Why: NCADV and NOMAS teamed up to host Preserving Our Roots While Looking Toward the Future to bring together advocates, activists, survivors, and allies working to end domestic violence. The conference seeks to connect and empower victims and survivors of domestic (and other forms of) violence through several workshops, survivor institutes, a Survivor Speak-Out, and presentations. This conference and its events are structured to provide victim service providers and allied professionals with necessary information to improve their work. NOMAS’affiliates will be examining aspects of gender identity, gender roles and the construction of masculinity. There will also be a focus on the role of men as allies to the women’s movement and the sexual assault/domestic violence movement. For a more detailed agenda, click here.
