Every Monday, The CSPH takes a look at a book or film focusing on an aspect of sexuality. This week we are featuring “Tristan Taormino’s Expert Guide to Pegging”.
In this film, feminist, author, educator, and activist Tristan Taormino covers many aspects of “this often misunderstood, yet incredibly sensual activity for couples in her legendary anal sex workshop”, the activity being “pegging”, when a woman uses a strap-on harness and dildo to anally penetrate a male partner. The film is excellent, sexy, and accessible because it is one of Taormino’s “Vivid Ed” guides where she educates viewers on a topic of sexuality while also using demo performers to display a lot of the actions she teaches about, while offering a clever concoction of pornographic material and sex education. Not only can this be incredibly hot for many people, but it can also make learning about a new sex act with a partner really fun and much more interactive than searching for accurate information on the internet!
The “Expert Guide to Pegging” is 129 minutes long and was released in 2012, making it super new and full of accurate information about pegging your partner. “Tristan Taormino’s Expert Guide to Pegging” would be a great DVD for anyone interested in anal play and/or pegging, whether they are just starting out or are extremely experienced, because it contains informative and sexy, important information for anyone engaging in this type of play. Not to mention the fact that Tristan Taormino identifies as a sex-positive feminist and is an experienced and brilliant sexuality educator. You can feel great about supporting her work because she aims to be inclusive and supportive of various genders and sexualities in her films and books, lets her performers choose who they work with and what they do so that they have a say in their own representation, features and focuses on real pleasure, and provides comprehensive, factual information. Weighing in at a cost of about twenty-five dollars, this film highlights a fabulous educator who challenges mainstream media depictions of gender, sex, and sexuality, and supports sexual minorities through her work.
