Lavender Law Conferences & Career Fair

Each week the CSPH highlights an upcoming workshop, conference, and other continuing education opportunity pertaining to sexuality, gender, or reproductive justice issues. This week we are highlighting the National LGBT Bar Association’s 2012 Lavender Law Conference and Career Fair, to be held August 23-25, 2012 in Washington, D.C..

Why: The Lavender Law Conference serves as a learning experience for legal practitioners, scholars, and students. Separate applications are required for the Family Law Institute and Transgender Law Institute. The LGBT Bar hopes to ultimately improve the quality of life for LGBT legal practitioners and the LGBT community as a whole. The workshops which will be held throughout the conference will focus on how to, as a legal professional, advocate for LGBT rights and cause an increase in LGBT quality of life. The accompanying career fair will give LGBT legal professionals the opportunity to network with LGBT-friendly law firms, government agencies and non-profit organizations. Registration is available on a sliding scale. Interested participants may register through the day of the conference.
