Every week, The CSPH takes a look at a sexual aid that can be just so darn spectacular for some people, that it needs to be highlighted. This week’s sexual aid is the Raquel dildo by Vixen Creations!
How does this product work?
The Raquel is a body-safe and statuesque toy, standing at 7 1/2 inches of insertable length and slightly over 1.5″ in diameter. Made out of Vixskin™–a premium formulation of silicone (and thus non-porous and phthalate-free) by Vixen Creations–, this toy was created with a solid core to hold it up and a squishier silicone outside to give it a pleasantly yielding feeling. There are few words that can accurately describe how this toy feels, but Vixskin is a bit stickier/tackier than regular human skin. It’s more like “skin in humid air,” but once there’s lubricant on it, the surface turns very sleek. Its texture can be mesmerizing, and some folks really just love playing around with it in their hands or putting the head of the toy in their mouths.
This dildo is primarily designed as a penetrative toy, and its slight curve and bulbous head make it a good G-spot toy for those who crave a softer type of stimulation and/or a toy that they can squeeze tightly with their kegel muscles. For folks who enjoy (or need) harder products made out of materials like steel or glass because of the direct pressure they can apply to their (or partners’) G-spots, the Raquel might be a fun change of pace, but perhaps not an “every-time toy.” The toy can also be used anally, but due to the bulbous head, novices might require some extra warm-up prior to insertion. Once the head is in, though, the smooth shaft is sure to provide a very sleek entry.
The Raquel comes in a “rose shimmer” (pearlescent pink) color with a white (also pearlescent) base. Its color and design make it perfect for those who want an insertable, but don’t want something that looks too much like a bio-cock.
For those who want to add more rumble to the mix, placing a powerful vibrator (such as a Hitachi Magic Wand) against the base of this dildo while it’s being inserted can work wonders. And if someone’s feeling adventurous, the suction-cup base means the toy can be a perfect accessory for a sexy romp in the shower.
Important Things To Note
Remember to only use water-based lubricant with this toy, as silicone-based lube will damage it and make it sticky!
Because it’s on the floppier end, it can be a bit hard to maneuver if the toy is used in a harness, or if one is masturbating with it using only one hand. The beautifully pearlescent flared base allows for a good grip, though, and it comes in handy for thrusting purposes.
Keeping It Clean
Since this toy is silicone, there are a ton of options. While it can be washed with mild soap and water or some spray-on toy-cleaner, one can also go all-out and sterilize it by boiling it for a few minutes or placing it on the top rack of the dishwasher and letting it run. At the same time, because it’s soft, squishy silicone, it can attract a ton of lint, so storing it in its plastic tube casing is a great option to keep it lint- and dust-free.

Looks like good clean fun. I think you could put a vibrating ring on it if you wanted to go solo in the shower.
