Each week, The CSPH takes a look at a sexual aid that can be just so darn spectacular for some people, that it needs to be highlighted. This week’s sexual aid is Sqweel by LoveHoney!
How does this product work?
At first glance, the Sqweel resembles a thick CD walkman. Upon closer inspection, however, it is a very unique toy that utilizes a wheel of 10 revolving silicone “tongues” to produce a consistent rhythm of touch rather than the more expected vibration offered by most toys. Instead of buzzing, it simulates oral stimulation by creating a never-ending lapping effect.
The Sqweel runs at three different speeds, and the slowest is light enough that, if pressed down on the body too hard, the tongues may stop rotating altogether. However, the second speed is a bit stronger, and the third speed would be perfect for those last few moments right before climax. To change the speed, there is a sliding switch at the bottom of the toy. Especially on the slower speeds, the toy can have an effect similar to a fan and actually produce some air circulation, so if you’re sensitive to cold, keep it placed closer to your body.
For those sensitive to loud noise, or those who are roommate-conscious, this toy may not be recommended as its motor is quite loud. The good news about this toy is that it is a new approach to stimulation. If you don’t enjoy buzzy sensations, and instead lust after oral action, this could be perfect for you. It’s a very unique sensation, especially used on other—less sensitive to cold—parts of the body like the nipples, anus, balls, or anywhere else one might like to be “licked.”
Important things to note:
The Sqweel runs on three AAA batteries, measures 4 1/2″ by 4 1/4”, and has a black, velvety finish on the outside where it is held, with pink silicone “tongues” inside. It is recommended that you use a sizeable amount of water-based lube with this toy; silicone lube is not recommended as it will degrade the silicone of the “tongues,” making small holes or causing them to melt. Applying lube is simple though, just lightly dribble it on while the wheel rotates.
LoveHoney also sells Sqweelers separately, which are different inserts to give the “tongues” a rest. These Sqweelers include waves and pearl shapes that offer different patterns for alternate levels of intensity.
How to keep it clean:
The Sqweel is exceptionally easy to keep clean because it all comes apart: the case opens with a little click, and the wheel can be completely removed to be washed with soap and water or with a gentle sex toy cleaner. It’s a good idea to also wipe down the inside of the case with a wet cloth as well, and let all the pieces dry separately before reassembly.
If you’re seeking a unique oral-esque sensation on any part of your body, the Sqweel might be a perfect choice. If being very quiet and discreet is a priority for you, it might be best to look elsewhere, but if you have thick walls and aren’t worried about the noise, the Sqweel’s innovative design and unique approach to stimulation is a far cry from almost all other sex toys on the market right now. If you want to feel something completely brand new (and give your partner’s mouth a rest!), take the Sqweel for a spin!
