Center Stage Sexual Aid: Je Joue Ami

Every week at The CSPH, we highlight a sex toy! This week it is Je Joue’s new kegel exercisers a.k.a. Ami.

How does this contraption work, anyway?

The point of using kegel exercisers is to strengthen the PC (pubococcygeus) muscles. As you build up strength in your PC muscles, your orgasms may become more intense, childbirth may be easier, and it can be pleasurable to use them. Ami comes in a set of three: one singular, large and light ball; a medium double-ball that is heavier and semi-soft; and a hard and heavy double ball. As you become a more advanced Kegel exerciser, you may want to move up from the first ball to the second or third option.

Specs/Important Things to Note:

Ami balls come in one color (as of now), which is purple. The set comes in a black box with a bow, making them a great gift for yourself, a friend or partner. These toys are 100 percent body-safe and contain no phtalates. The toy is made with ABS plastic and silicon. Since the toys are made with silicon, using silicon lube with them will destroy the toy. It is recommended that you use water-based lube with the Ami balls. The balls have a velvety feel to them. They are non-porous and therefore can be shared with a friend as long as they are cleaned properly. They are also hypo-allergenic. The Ami set sells for about $39.00. The toys in the set are each different weights and sizes, so it’s very likely that at least one will suit you and your body well. These are toys made to be used in the vagina only.

Keeping It Clean:

Ami should be washed with anti-bacterial soap and water. If you feel a need to boil the toy to sterilize it, do not leave it in boiling water longer than a minute.
