Center Stage Sexual Aid: Good Clean Love Personal Lubricant

Each week the CSPH takes a look at a sexual aid that can be just so darn spectacular for some people, that it needs to be highlighted. This week the sexual aid is the Good Clean Love Personal Lubricant.

How does this contraption work anyway?

Good Clean Love is a water-based 100% natural and organic lubricant that helps decrease vaginal dryness and helps promote natural vaginal wetness. To use, simply apply as much lube as desired to you or your partner, (or both!) and let the fun begin; but with this lube a little goes a long way, so it’s easy to apply more than needed.  Good Clean Lube has a light consistency, so it’s not dense and thick, but fresh and gentle to the touch. Because it is water-based, this lube is compatible with latex condoms and sex toys as well, which makes this lubricant great for solo play or partner play!

Important things to note:

Good Clean Love is made from mostly water and aloe (with no parabens or chemicals!), and is completely vegan and edible. Good Clean Love has a variety of flavors they offer, such as Lilac Rose and Cinnamon Vanilla to enhance this already great product. But of course, they offer unflavored lube as well. Because it is made with aloe, it even helps moisturize the skin while helping to lubricate, all at the same time! But will most likely not hold up well with wet play, like in the shower, because it is water based. The company also gives proceeds from their sales of Good Clean Love to charities and organizations around the world and was not tested on animals. Overall, this lube is great for our bodies and the environment!

Keeping It Clean:

Normally, little stickiness is left behind; to clean up after use, a damp wash cloth will work. This lubricant is easy to remove, because it is water-based and because it absorbs into the skin so naturally, even if you use a plentiful amount

  1. I’m a total lube fanatic — I love trying new kinds. I love lube so much I’ve set up an automatic delivery of my favorite kind monthly from Amazon.

I’ve tried this one, and here’s my assessment:

The good: This lube *smells* wonderful — and not a fake, chemical fragrance. Even the “unscented” one has a faint sweet, almost vanilla-like odor that I assume is a result of the natural ingredients. It handily passes my packaging test — I can pick it up and dispense more easily, even when I’ve already got lube on my hands.

The bad: This lube isn’t very long lasting. You will have to re-apply often, and I find it sticky when it starts to dry. I haven’t had a lube that dries this quickly since the Ancient Days before I discovered really good lube and I was still using original KY gel because it was easy to find in local pharmacies.

I bought this specifically because of the organic/earth-friendly vibe of the company; I have a girlfriend who’s seriously into those issues and is concerned about the environment and the effect of too much stuff extruded from a nozzle in a lab getting into her body. But this one probably won’t get me to shell out again, because of the fast dry-time. I have tried other green/organic lubes that I loved, namely the Sliquid Organics line. Those are also glycerin/paraben free for those who have sensitivities or are trying to avoid glycerin or paraben.

One hint: put glow in the dark stickers on your lube bottle! Makes it a heck of a lot easier to find in low lighting.
